Q:  Do you make custom Cupcakes and Cakes?
A:  Yes!  We do custom Cupcakes and Cakes. Our decorators can help create a fun memorable treat for your special occasion or event.  We can incorporate a specific party or event theme. When you call or stop by the bakery, we will consult with you to make your event special.

Q:  How much are your Cupcakes?
A:    Our Cupcakes range in price according to size and décor as well as type. We offer mini Cupcakes that start at $.75 and our regular sized ones that range in price from $1.50 to $4.00 and up.

Q: Do you rent cupcake stands?
A:  Yes, we do!  We have two acrylic, white cupcake stands that are adjustable in size. At its full height, one cupcake stand holds approximately 45 standard size cupcakes. Rental fee is $25.

Q:   How much are your Cakes?
A:   Our Cakes start at $22 for our smallest Cake which is a three layer 6 inch round cake.  The 6 inch Cake feeds 6 people.  Please refer to our Cake page and our Wedding Cake page for more information.

Q: What if I want a copyright character (Hello Kitty, Thomas the Train, etc.) on my cake; can you draw it on the cake?
A:  Currently at this time we do not have a copyright license. We cannot reproduce any copyrighted character. If you bring in the character cake topper or toys we can decorate the cake around the toppers/toys to be an environment for them.

Q:  How do I take care of my Cake or Cupcakes?
A:  To keep your Cake or Cupcakes as fresh as possible, we suggest that you keep them refrigerated until at least ½ hour before serving. To achieve maximum flavor, Cakes or Cupcakes are best served at room temperature. Always keep them away from any heat sources and out of the reach of your children and pets.

Q:  Do you use buttercream frosting?
A:  No, we do not. The standard icings we use are a creamy white and creamy fudge icing. They are not as greasy or as sweet as most buttercreams.

Q: Can I bring in my own decorations for the decorating staff to use on my cake/cupcakes?
A:  Yes and no. You are more than welcome to bring in NON-EDIBLE decorations (cake toppers, candles, etc.).  We do NOT allow any outside edible decorations of any kind.  If you are bringing in non-edible decorations, we require they be brought in as soon as possible, at least 48 hours prior to your pick-up time.

Q:  Can the decorators make me a custom cake/cupcake topper(s)?
A:  Yes, within reason. We make cake toppers and cupcake toppers to order. Any cake topper must be discussed with the decorator beforehand. All cake and cupcake toppers are hand made by our decorating staff and will incur an additional charge.

Q:  Do you make Wedding Cakes and Wedding Cupcakes?
A:  Yes!  Please call 410-997-9338 to reserve an appointment for a free tasting.  Tastings are limited to two people and must be secured with a credit card.  Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $25 cancellation/no show fee.  Limited times available. Please take a look at the Wedding section for more information.

Q:  How far in advance do I need to order my Wedding Cake?
A:  We ask at least 6 to 12 months notice.  However, we have been able to schedule a wedding cake within 3 months of a wedding date.  The busiest months of wedding season are May, June, September, and October and we ask brides to plan much earlier in advance for those months.

Q:  Do you provide sugar flowers?
A:  Yes, we have a large variety of gumpaste/sugar flowers available for use on your wedding cake.

Q:  I love your “Under the Sea / Alaska” cake!  Is it real?
A:  The “Under the Sea” and “Alaska” cake is a real fake cake. It is a dummy cake on the inside (the inside is Styrofoam) and the outside is made with real cake decorating products (i.e. gumpaste, fondant, royal icing, food coloring gel, etc.).  All the pieces are hand sculpted and this cake can be recreated on a cake without the Styrofoam. These two cakes are only available in the size and décor show.  We cannot scale down or “take pieces” of décor from either cake. The “Under the Sea” cake took our decorator 25 hours just to sculpt all the figures. That time does not include drying time or assembly.  It is a truly amazing cake and continues to astound the staff.  Both the “Alaska” and “Under the Sea” cakes are award winners and took first place in their categories at the 2010 Great American Cake Show in Westminster, MD.

Q:  What type of items do you make?
A:  We make a full range of delectable bakery treats, which includes but is not limited to: cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, brownies, Danish, cinnamon rolls, filled croissants, muffins, tarts, savory croissants, carrot cake and a whole lot more.  Come by for a visit as our product line-up changes as we introduce new products and seasonal items.

Q:  What if I have a nut allergy?
A:  Touche Touchet Bakery is NOT a nut free environment.  Many of our products contain peanuts or other nut products.  We recommend to those with severe allergies to err on the side of caution and not consume our products.

Q:  Do you have dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan friendly products?
A:  Currently, we do not offer vegan friendly, egg-free, dairy-free, or sugar free products.  However, we are constantly adding new flavors to our menu. New flavors are announced on our website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. We do make a flourless chocolate cake (single layer 6” or 8” round) that is covered with dark chocolate ganache.  Touche Touchet Bakery is not a flourless environment and we cannot guarantee that the cake is 100% flourless and those with a severe allergy should err on the side of caution and not consume our products.

Q:  Does Touche Touchet Bakery make custom cookies?
A:  We make custom decorated (royal iced sugar cookie) cookies. They come fully decorated the way you want and are packaged in a clear cellophane bag with our logo sticker on the back and topped with a hand made bow.  Customers in the past have order their company’s logo and dinner guest’s names.

Q:  Do I need to order in advance?
A:  We require one week advance notice.  For orders not placed one week in advance, please call the bakery to see if we can still accommodate your order.  Your best option is to place your order as early as possible so that we can make that special occasion/event even more special by guaranteeing your order.

Q: Do I need to pre-pay for a special order?
A:  Yes, at least a 50% deposit is required on all special orders.  Until an order has a payment made on it, it is not baked.

Q:  What method of payments do you accept?
A:  We accept MC, Visa, Discover, and of course cash.  We do not accept checks or American Express.

Q:  Do you deliver?
A:  Yes, we deliver to a limited area.  At this time we only deliver Wedding Cakes and orders over $100.  There is a fee for delivery and some restrictions apply.

Q: Do you ship bakery items?
A: No, not at this time.

Q:  Where are you located?
A: We are located in the Kings Contrivance neighborhood in Columbia, Maryland just off Rt. 29 at exit 17 (Shaker/Seneca Drive), or Rt. 32 at exit 15.  The address is 10400 Shaker Drive which is in the Atholton Shopping Center.  We are located on the far end of the shopping center.  More specific directions are available at the bottom under ‘Location.’

Q:  I love your bakery!  Are you hiring?
A:  We are always accepting applications and looking for a little extra help during our busiest seasons.  Feel free to stop in, fill out an application, and attach a current resume.  We are looking for hard working, self-starters that have flexible schedules to accommodate the hours required of working in a bakery.
